Oh pumpkin spice, is it that time of year yet?
Falling leaves and flannels, that bitter chill in the air,
I first tasted you in coffee, but I hadnāt yet explored:
Pumpkin rolls, pumpkin delights, and what about the pie?
Sweet with a hint of spice and a scent impossible to resist,
Your seasoning is the flavor the gross treats have missed!
Can autumn last forever, so we donāt have to say goodbye

Almost always late to every Halloween
Is this nausea or pleasure? Itās one or the other.
Thankfully I was raised rightā¦
by a Pumpkin Spice loving mother.
PU for pure happiness as the taste tingles my tongue yet again
after a year of seemingly endless waiting
M for melt-in-your-mouth
savory tang of cinnamon meeting smooth autumnal allspice
P for purchasing lattes, chocolates, gummies, soups, cookies, cakes
until my wallet groans and my bank account complains
KI for kisses exchanged with a loved one equally obsessed
the taste of Octoberās sweetest spice on both our lips
N for November, end of an era, ghouls and ghosties put back to bed as
the āmintā-er wins begin to blow and peppermint relentlessly pushes on,
succeeding pumpkin yet again
In autumnās embrace, pumpkin spice we adore,
Its scent and warmth leave us craving for more.
Yet as the seasons change, we tire of its reign,
Love turns to resentment, a bittersweet refrain.
A dance of flavors, a constant tug-of-war,
Our love-hate relationship with pumpkin spice, forevermore.
How do I know it is pumpkin spice time?
Falling leaves and cooler days.
Pumpkin spice in every food and drink galore.
Dates at the corn maze.
Little sister says I donāt want any more.
I say give me more.
